Meander through the small arts and crafts courtyard on Market Street enjoying the workmanship of the glass studio "dreams in glass," the nature workshop "Hübner", the "Harzer knitwear" shop and the smallest porcelain manufacturer in Europe to name a few.
In the arts and crafts courtyard there grows a vine of a rare variety called "Bluefooted rotating hiking Climber". It is said that the literary great, Goethe got lost during his stay in the Harz and Wernigerode in 1777 and after an extensive pub crawl through the city's public houses he became lost in this courtyard. With support from his secretary Eckermann he allegedly "watered" the vine extensively.
